BIO
Bría (She/Her) is a Black queer woman from Richmond Virginia where she currently resides with her family on a small farm. She spent much of her childhood exploring the outdoors where she tended to wounded fledgling birds, caught fireflies or enjoyed camping with her brother. Bría has always had a heart for nature which presents itself currently as she spends much of her spare time outside on her farm with her dog and chickens.
Bría entered the workforce as a consultant and spent several years in sales before training as a Birth Doula in 2017. In 2019 she left her banking career to pursue birth work full time and has since helped families as a Doula and Newborn Care Specialist. In 2021 Bría enrolled at Midwives College of Utah where she is currently studying to become a Certified Professional Midwife.
Bría is an advocate for underserved populations providing support and encouragement so that families feel empowered to make informed choices regarding their healthcare. She has focused her studies on learning how to provide culturally competent, community based care for families. She has experience providing support to LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, non-monogamous, or differently abled humans.
